    Grossmont College has served San Diego's East County since 1961. The college is located in the city of El Cajon, and is adjacent to the cities of San Diego, Santee and La Mesa.

    Grossmont College receives bond support from the East County community, most recently with the passage of Prop. V. As part of Grossmont College's 2002 voter-approved Prop. R, the Sculpture Laboratory and Yard (pictured) provides sculpture, 3-D design/jewelry studios and a large outdoor sculpture work yard. The building is part of the Digital Arts/Sculpture Complex.

    Grossmont College features a wide variety of student engagement programs, from Umoja, an outreach and student success program for African-American students, to dozens of student organizations, from the Student Empowerment Organization to Associated Students of Grossmont College Inc.

    Arts and Culture

    The Main Quad hosts many international arts and culture events, including this performance featuring African music and dancing. Events are presented by student organizations, academic departments, the World Arts & Cultures Committee and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.

    Athletics Facilities

    Grossmont College is home to the 2005 national football champions. The Griffins have several conference championships and are ranked in a variety of sports statewide, most recently as No. 3 for women's volleyball in 2014 - 15.

    In spring 2014, Grossmont College awarded the highest number of degrees and certificates in its history, including 2,952 associate's degrees.

  • Health Professions
    Health Professions

    Located in the Health & Sciences Complex (pictured), Grossmont College features a wide variety of health professionals programs, including nursing, cardiovascular technology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy and anesthesia technology, among others. In fall 2014, the nursing program announced an exciting partnership with San Diego's Point Loma Nazarene University, which will allow Grossmont College students to continue their studies on campus while obtaining a bachelor's degree in nursing.

    Year-Round Classes

    Grossmont College offers classes throughout the year, including summer session and winter intersession, an intensive three-week term that allows students to obtain up to three credits in required or transferable courses.

    Library

    The Grossmont College Library allows students to not only access information from around the world, but also from throughout the region through its cooperative lending program with other colleges, universities and public lending libraries located in San Diego County.

  • Culinary Arts
    Culinary Arts

    Grossmont College's culinary arts program is widely respected throughout the region. In fall 2014, its students won the region's Iron Chef Competition that featured contestants from private and public collegiate culinary arts programs. The program also hosts popular weekly gourmet dinners throughout the academic year. In fall 2014, the program served 550 guests at 11 events.

    Accreditation

    Grossmont College was recently reaffirmed for accreditation in 2014 by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. During its initial visit in fall 2013, the accrediting team noted the college's welcoming atmosphere in addition to its other innovative programs designed to enhance student success.

    STEM Outreach

    In response to community need, Grossmont College has focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) outreach through the Health and Science Pipeline Initiative funded through the California Community College Chancellor's Office, as well as other events such as tournaments, bridging programs and science activities.

    Financial Aid

    Grossmont College Financial Aid, located in the Student Services & Administration building (pictured), awarded $30.6 million in federal, state and institutional financial aid to approximately 51 percent of our students. Roughly $28 million (or 94 percent) of the funds awarded was in the form of grants or scholarships. The average amount of financial aid awarded per student was $2,587.

  • Learning Technology Resources Center
    Learning Technology Resources Center

    The Learning Technology Resources Center (LTRC) features the Tech Mall, a quiet study area with computers for student use; Flex Lab, computer labs for students enrolled in short-term courses that help them learn how to use Microsoft Office programs; and tutoring services, including the Tutoring Center, English Writing Center and Math Study Center, among others.

    Griffin Center

    The student center, Griffin Center, is the hub for Grossmont College student life. Home to Grossmont College food services, including Griffin Grill and Java Market, it also houses offices for Student Affairs, student clubs and the Associated Students of Grossmont College. The building also features quiet zones, video gaming and lounge areas.

    Grossmont College Student Services include Admissions & Records, Counseling and Financial Aid, located in the Student Services & Administration building, and Adult Re-Entry Center, Career Center, Extended Opportunity Programs and Services(EOPS)/Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)/CalWORKS, Disabled Student Programs and Services, Student Affairs, Student Employment Services and Student Health Services located in Griffin Center (pictured).

    Digital Arts

    Grossmont College offers students the ability to jump into the digital age of design with classes in digital arts (pictured). Students can obtain an associate's degree and/or certificates of achievement in multimedia, a interdisciplinary program that exposes them to core courses in digital multimedia and an area of emphasis, such as software development, video, visual design or web authoring.

    Grossmont College is a hub for performing arts in East County. With well-known theatre arts, music, dance (pictured) and visual arts programs, Grossmont College boasts several alumni who have gone on to award-winning careers throughout the region, country and the world.

    Students have opportunities for studying, socializing, eating and more in the lounge area located in Griffin Center.

  • Science Laboratory
    Science Laboratory

    The Science Laboratory features department offices and laboratories for Chemistry, Biology and Earth Sciences. The building, built as part of Prop. R, also features the Biology Learning Center, which features microscopes, models, skeletons and slides for students enrolled in biology courses.

  • Diversity
    Diversity

    Grossmont College is a diverse campus, with more than half of all students self-identifying as members of historically underrepresented groups, including Hispanic, African-American, Asian or two or more groups. Grossmont College has also been identified as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) by the U.S. Department of Education, with 31 percent of the student body self-identifying as Hispanic or Latino.
