Possible Interpreter Injury

Interpreters are expected to follow the same lab safety rules required of all students in the classroom. This may require wearing safety goggles, lab coats, and closed-toed shoes. Some classes such as Forensic Science use hazardous, carcinogenic, chemicals that require strict adherence to safety rules.

Inform the Interpreter Coordinator immediately if you are pregnant and working in a class with potentially hazardous chemicals (e.g. Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biology Labs, etc.)

If you are injured on campus, please be sure to request assistance to fill out all Worker's Compensation forms for on-the-job injuries (Worker's Compensation Information). As soon as possible, be sure to report any work injury to your immediate supervisor, the Interpreter Coordinator, by calling (619) 933-8191 (cell). If the Interpreter Coordinator is unavailable, please contact the A.R.C. front staff.

Got Ice? If you feel you could use some ice from a long day of working, ice is located at the Health Services Center office at the Griffin Center inside building 60. If you need any first-aid amenities, please see Health Services Center or the Accessibility Resource Center.

For an an immediate response to a medical emergency, life-threatening situation, crime in progress, or major disturbance, please call 911. For non-emergency situations, call campus Public Safety at (619) 644-7654.
