Grossmont College Accreditation

Grossmont College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC/WASC), 10 Commercial Blvd., Suite 204, Novato, CA 94949, (415) 506-0234, or www.accjc.org. The ACCJC is a regional accrediting agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. Accreditation by this agency signifies to the educational community and to the public at large that Grossmont College has met the standards of quality recognized as necessary for graduate competence and public funding. Appropriate courses are fully accepted on transfer by the University of California, the California State University, and by private four-year colleges and universities. Grossmont College agrees to adhere to the standards and requirements of the ACCJC at all times.

Grossmont College's status with ACCJC was last reaffirmed in 2014 and with the acceptance of the 2017 Mid-Term Report no further action is required of the college until the next comprehensive evaluation in 2019. For detailed information on our status, please visit the ACCJC Communications and Reports to the ACCJC pages.

The public, college community and students may make formal complaints to the ACCJC about Grossmont College or other member institutions or about the ACCJC itself.  Information about these processes and the proper forms to use is found on the ACCJC Complaints Process page. We encourage students to first refer to the Grossmont College process for student complaints found on the Student Affairs page Complaints Process.

During the site visit & evaluation semester and up to five weeks before the Commission meeting where the evaluation is being considered, the public, college community and students may make comments about the institution using the Third Party Comments form, also found on the ACCJC Complaints Process page.

Grossmont College is also accredited by other agencies for specific programs on campus. More information is found under the Programmatic Accreditations tab below.
