As development continues in Southern California, more and more
housing developments are encroaching on wildfire-prone natural
vegetation habitats.
As a result, our firefighters are increasingly challenged with more
difficult and dangerous situations.
They, and the firefighting resources of California...
....are pushed to the edge.
Hundreds of thousands of people,
pets, and native fauna have been
evacuated from their homes. This
is a picture of Mission Bay.
People have been placed in temporary living situations at
Qualcomm Stadium.
The local community has shown tremendous support with
donations of food, water, and other necessities.
