New Student Matriculation

Follow these steps to fully matriculate to Grossmont College and get priority registration.

Step 1 - Apply Online

  • Before you can register for classes, you must fill out an application to Grossmont college. This can be done online and it is free!

Step 2 - Login to WebAdvisor

  • Once your application is processed (24-48hrs), please login to WebAdvisor and setup your student account. Your username is your firstname.lastname (lowercase only) and your initial password will be your six digit date of birth (mmddyy).

Step 3 - Send Your Transcripts

  • If you have attended another college, have your official transcripts sent to the Admissions & Records Office at Grossmont College. Official transcripts and scores must still be in the sealed official envelope if you are submitting them in person. We also accept electronic transcripts.
  • If you took AP classes in high school, please have College Board send your test scores send to the Admissions & Records Office.

Step 4 - Online Orientation

  • Complete the Online Orientation
    • Login to WebAdvisor
    • Click the Students tab
    • Under Orientation/Assess/Advising, click Step One - Online Orientation
  • To get the earliest new student registration date, you must complete the Online Orientation (Step 4), Assessment (Step 5), and Online Advising (Step 6) in that order.

Step 5 - Take the Assessment Test

  • The assessment test will help assess your current level of Math and English
  • Please visit the Assessment Center page to find out how to make an assessment test, dates and times, assessment exemptions, and other important information.

Step 6 - Complete Online Advising

  • Complete the Online Advising
    • Login to WebAdvisor
    • Click Students
    • Under Orientation/Assess/Advising, click Step Three - Online Advising
  • If you are exempt from taking the Assessment, and have course work from another institution, you must clear your English and Math prerequisites

Step 7 - Register for Classes

  • You may register for classes online using WebAdvisor
  • You will receive an e-mail indicating your assigned registration date and time
    • In July for Fall
    • In November for Spring (including Intersession)
    • In April for Summer

Step 8 - Pay Fees

  • Registration is not complete until your tuition and feed are paid. Students are dropped for non-payment
  • You can pay your fees via WebAdvisor or on campus at the Cashier's Office

Step 9 - Attend Classes

  • Find your classrooms on the campus map
  • Students taking online classes access them through Blackboard on the day class start
