A beginning course that explores the Elements of Art (line, shape, contrast, color, texture, and space) and the Principles of Organization (balance, harmony, variety, proportion…) to create design works on a flat plane. Works hands-on with color pencil, paint, collage, ink, charcoal and other materials. No experience necessary!

A beginning drawing course – no experience necessary! Work from observation to learn how to draw what you see. Learn shading, perspective, portraits, landscapes, and still-life with pencil, charcoal, pastel, and ink.
ART 299A – Public Art and Airbrush Painting, 2 units

This course is designed for students that have an interest in producing airbrush painted art in a public context. The course will cover several aspects and methods used in the production of public art works. Issues examined will include technique, design and application through the procurement of materials, creation, and installation. Students will implement artistic skills, techniques and concepts to design and produce airbrushed murals or other works collaboratively for public context.
