When notified of acceptance into the Orthopedic Technology Program each student is required to:
Complete all admission requirements to attend Grossmont College. Refer to the Grossmont College Website for details at www.grossmont.edu, or check with the Admissions and Records Office.
**Influenza update (10/2018)
Following the fall 2018 semester, the Orthopedic Tech Program will no longer be able to accept a declination of the flu vaccine for any reason due to recent requirements enacted by our local clinical facilities. Students are required to be vaccinated yearly.
Please be aware that students accepted to the program at Grossmont College are required to undergo a background check and a urine drug screening test before starting the program or being placed at a clinical site. The cost of these procedures may be $75 - $125. The student will be responsible for paying these fees.
It should be noted that failure to pass either or both of these procedures may interfere with clinical placement and/or acceptance of the student into the Ortho Tech Program.
The day of your urine drug test, DO NOT drink more than 8 oz. of any liquid. If you drink an excessive amount of liquid prior to conducting your urine drug screen, the results will be diluted and/or altered and therefore incomplete. If your drug screen results come back dilute, your will not be able to be placed in clinical settings therefore, you will be ineligible to enter the OT program.
