Welcome prospective HIST 108 students!

  • Please take some time to read the Course Info posted on this website.
    No onsite, pre-semester orientation will be held.

  • Students will be required to log-in to class on the first day of the course = Monday, January 29 after 10am.

    • The link to Canvas (the online course management system we'll be using is posted in the list of handy links to the left (green boxes).
    • Log-in info is provided both on the Canvas log-in page and on my Course Info page.

NOTE: 

  • HIST 108 will not show on your list of classes on Canvas until M 1/29 after 10am.

The first day of our class...

The first day of our class is Monday, January 29. Please make sure to do the following to have a smooth launch:

  • Please spend some time reading the HIST 108 Syllabus and Course Info (links posted above).

  • Buy the required text (only one):

    • Stefoff, Rebecca, and Howard Zinn. A Young People's History of the United States. New York: Seven Stories Press, 2009. 
      ISBN: 9781583228692 

  • Log into Canvas as soon as you can on M 1/29 so we can work out log-in issues, I can let crashers in, and we can get the course rolling.

    • WAITLISTERS/CRASHERS PLEASE NOTE: Add codes are distributed the first day for the course.

      • You will not be able to log-in to Canvas until after I have issued you an add code, you successfully register through WebAdvisor AND pay for the course, and then Canvas enrolls you when it does its daily update the next day. 

  • After you have logged-in to Canvas on M 1/29, please read the welcome announcement, then go to the Orientation activities via the link posted.
