I took courses at a community college while still in high school (dual-enrollment) do I still qualify for this program?
Answer: Yes. If you took courses while still in high school, you’re still considered to be a first time college student.
Do I have to speak Spanish and identify as Hispanic to be in this program?
Answer: No, all first-time students are welcome to apply regardless of ethnicity/race.
I’m only planning on registering for two courses at Grossmont College. Do I have to be a full-time student to be accepted?
Answer: No, you do not have to be a full-time student. Our program welcomes part-time students as well.
I completed a college course at a different community college after I graduated high school, but now I want to enroll at Grossmont for the first time. Do I still qualify for this program?
Answer: Unfortunately, you do not qualify for our program. Only first-time college students are eligible to apply. We encourage you to take advantage of other Student Services on campus.
Can I be in Via Rápida FYE if I am already a part of other programs on campus?
Answer: Yes! You can join multiple programs at once if you meet the qualifications to join.
I don’t plan on submitting a FAFSA application since I will not qualify due to my family's household income. Can I still apply?
Answer: We encourage all students to submit a financial aid application since it is a requirement to join our program. In addition, it is a requirement to receive TWO years of FREE tuition at Grossmont from the Grossmont-Cuyamaca College Promise.
I’m not a first generation college student. Do I still qualify?
Answer: Yes. All first time to college students are encouraged to apply.
Does Via Rápida FYE provide priority registration for the summer semester?
Answer: No. We only provide priority registration for the Fall and Spring semester
