Michelle Rowe-Odom is a counseling educator, with over 10 years of experience serving youth and families in San Diego. Her teaching experience extend to counseling education, parenting education, and after-school enrichment program and development in K-12 schools. In addition to her role as counselor, Michelle serves as part-time faculty at San Diego State University in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology. Michelle continues to remain active in the San Diego community, staying closely connected to issues surrounding mental health. Michelle is also a member of the San Diego chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists and is currently co-facilitating a project and research study which works closely with formerly incarcerated individuals and their families to reduce the damaging impact of mass incarceration on vulnerable populations, through community counseling, self-empowerment, and engagement. Michelle is also married to her best friend, and has two beautiful daughters. She loves to laugh, and finds joy in reading, spending time in nature, painting, dancing, and gardening.
