A Forensic Technology Emphasis is the choice for those who wish to get involved with the collection, preservation and analysis of crime scene evidence and or latent fingerprint analysis.
This emphasis is geared toward those students who wish to become forensic specialists or crime scene technicians. Some graduates become fingerprint examiners while others continue their education in a hard science to become a criminalist (forensic scientist).
Our forensic technology emphasis is unique in that it is one of the few such degree programs in the U.S. to offer a "hands-on" approach to topics such as investigative photography and identification technology, taught by seasoned professionals. Because of our unique program, police departments and crime labs throughout the state now employ forensic technicians and latent print examiners who received their education at Grossmont College.
Check out this video about Grossmont College and our Forensic Technology program.
